Order Woodpecker

Decades of precision
Since its development in 1989, the Woodpecker has undergone continuous further development and has become an indispensable instrument for hip operations worldwide. Thanks to decades of experience and high quality, the Woodpecker has become an essential tool for surgeons.
- The Woodpecker is used as a rasping machine for hip prostheses.
- The axial impulses of the Woodpecker shorten the duration of the operation.
- Unphysiological pressure in the femur is prevented.
- The lightweight instrument enables fatigue-free working.
- The surgeons can concentrate better on the operation.
Advantages of the Woodpecker
Advantages of compressed air-driven rasping technology compared to conventional methods. The high-frequency axial impulses achieve precise processing of the femur. The operation time and the risk of complications are minimized.
Oscillation
Axial movements at 70Hz enable precise modeling of the medullary canal and avoid gaps between the bone and the prosthesis stem.
Small impulses
The small impulses of the woodpecker (up to max. 1 Newton) largely prevent pressure build-up in the femur, avoid tension peaks and bone damage and minimize the risk of fat embolism.
Click fastener
The click lock allows the rasps to be quickly inserted and rotated through 90°. The handle indicates the direction of the flexed lower leg and improves femur control.
